Race Details
SPLITS
At each mile mark. A digital clock will be on display on the right side of the road at 5K.
WATER - HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE
Water will be available outside the school from 2:00pm until 5:00pm. Runners are strongly urged to take fluids within 1 hour of the start of the race.
REFRESHMENTS
Water at 2, 3¾, and 5 miles. Signs along the course will alert runners to official water stations. DO NOT ACCEPT FLUIDS from unofficial sources along the course.
FIRST AID
A professionally staffed Medical Tent will be open from 1pm until after the race on the finish field.
RACE WALK
Race walk is 5 kilometers. It is a competitive event. All entrants will receive the runners packet and t-shirt and all finishers will receive a finisher's medal. Prizes go to the top three in each category.
SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE
Begins at 1pm providing FREE transportation to the school from North Ferry and South Ferry until the end of the post race party compliments of Hampton Jitney and Sunrise Bus.
PARKING
Parking available at Shelter Island School. PLEASE DO NOT PARK ANYWHERE ON ROUTE 114, as that is a part of the race course. Please park along side streets and keep all driveways clear.
FREE STRETCHING CLINIC
A stretching and warm-up clinic from 4:15pm to 4:45pm on the front lawn of school, near the starting line.
RESTROOMS
Portable toilets will be located outside the Shelter Island School and near the finish line.
DRESSING/SHOWERS AND BAG CHECK
Free Showers and bag check at the Shelter Island High School gym. This service is provided by the Shelter Island High School sophomore class. Tips are appreciated.

BENEFICIARIES
The first twenty-five Shelter Island 10K Runs donated more than $500,000 to the Special Olympics and Shelter Island charities. The goal of the 38th Annual Shelter Island Run is to continue this tradition to meet the expanding needs of local charities.
RADIO
The official Shelter Island Run radio station is WLNG 92.1 FM, 1600 AM. The race will be broadcast live with pre-race coverage all afternoon.
KID'S FUN RUN
Top Free 200 meter runs through the official Shelter Island Run finish line for children 4 - 10 years old. Free medals for all participants. Bring the kiddos to the finish field at 3:45 for the run.
